Vertex Pharmaceuticals is seeking an Associate Director to join its Health Economics and Value-Based Analytics group in Cambridge , MA. This individual will be responsible for leading the design and execution of health economics programs on pipeline assets in multiple therapeutic areas. Key Responsibilities: - Identify and develop the health economics (HE) data and analyses that are necessary to support medical and commercial plans - Conduct HE studies and evaluations in accordance with sound principles of economic assessment - Collaborate with New Product Planning, Marketing, Medical and other functions to develop global value and pricing strategies. - Effectively manage external research partners and contract-based resources - Maintain awareness of the quickly evolving global reimbursement landscape and the evidentiary needs of health care decision-makers to guide HE strategies - Work closely as a member of the HE team, lead methodological discussions and share best practices/key learnings with other team members : - A Bachelor's degree - 5+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech experience - 3+ years of experience in health economics and outcomes research (OR) Preferred Qualifications: - A graduate-level degree in a related field (e.g, PharmD, PhD, MD, MPH) - Strong knowledge of HE assessment (cost-effectiveness, budgetary impact, cost-utility analyses) - Excellent understanding of OR (prospective studies, data base analysis, PRO development) - Experience in communication/dissemination of HE? studies - Ability to develop global and AMCP dossiers - Ability to prepare scientific abstracts for conferences - Experience drafting, reviewing, and editing manuscripts - Strong project management skills - Demonstrated appreciation for attending to details and meeting timelines - Significant experience working with contract research organizations (CROs) - A comprehensive understanding of global healthcare systems and reimbursement processes/decision-making
