Venture Tape (a 3M company in the Industrial Adhesives & Tapes Division) is currently seeking a Customer Service Representative in Rockland, MA to provide a variety of services through customer transactions and administrative support, part numbers set up, management of outside warehouses and outside converters.
Major Responsibilities/Activities:
* Represents Venture Tape in communicating with external customers
* Assumes responsibility for handling varied customer transactions regarding order entry, order status (promise and shipping dates), inquiries, back orders, proofs of deliveries, freight claims, trials, samples and other related policies and procedures
* Exercises discretion and independent judgment when dealing with product specifications, new products, pricing, adjustments, returned goods, and overstocked inventory
* Works with freight consultant to resolve carrier matters on problem shipments out of the outside warehouses
* Sets up part numbers and customers
* Manages outside warehouses and outside converters
* Identifies and resolves customer complaints, customer service failures, and complex problems which require independent action to correct and/or prevent
* Analyzes, recommends, and approves alternate solutions to meet customer needs and/or account specific needs
* Assists in selling to prospective customers
* Interacts with supervisory/managerial employees (such as sales managers), and non-managerial employees (such as credit analysts, etc.), that involve explaining and discussing difficult information
* Provides support to product managers and outside sales representatives
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
* 1+ year experience in customer service and/or supply chain logistics
* Associate's degree or higher from an accredited university
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university in business administration, logistics, materials management, and/or supply chain management
* Experience in a manufacturing plant and/or distribution center
* SAP and/or any other ERP system experience
* Secondary language skills a plus
* Professional telephone manner
* Proven organizational skills
* Attention to detail and accurate
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines
