Desktop Support Analyst

Acadian Asset Management LLC is a Boston-headquartered investment management firm with wholly owned affiliates located in Singapore and London. As of July 31, 2011, the firm managed approximately US$50 billion on behalf of major pension funds, endowments, foundations, governments and other investors based in the U.S. and abroad.

Position Overview:

The Desktop Support Analyst is primarily responsible for supporting and maintaining desktop and mobile hardware, software, and user functionality for the organization on a day to day basis. This person has long-term project goals and will be contributing to team and department projects. The Desktop Support Analyst takes ownership and initiative for problem resolution, strives to spot problematic areas, analyzes solutions, proposes resolutions and directs their implementation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Provide technical assistance to end users in a timely manner with a focus on high quality customer service
* Manage Acadian issue tracking system (trouble ticket system); advise and educate users in the effective use of the issue tracking system.
* Determine the source of problems and classify their level, priority and nature. Take problem ownership and drive to closure.
* Troubleshoot software, hardware and basic network connectivity problems. When necessary, make recommendations regarding upgrades in equipment and/or software to ensure that the systems are running smoothly.
* Coordinate other IT resources to assist in problem resolution as needed.
* Provide instruction to staff members in the usage of applications. Conduct training sessions when new software is introduced to staff members.
* Evaluate software and hardware and make recommendations regarding purchases. Install new software and hardware and ensure that staff members are properly trained on the use of newly implemented programs and equipment.
* Assist in managing all aspects to desktop environment including Anti-Virus system, system roll out processes, desktop application maintenance, patching, licenses etc.
* Maintain documentation for help desk procedures. Ensure that procedures and best practices are kept up to date.
* Support remote users
* Other duties and strategic projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Core technologies (expertise expected):
* Windows 7 & XP
* Active Directory and Exchange account management
* MS Office and common desktop software suites support
* Desktop hardware, printers, laptops and Blackberries
* Ghost or other desktop imaging systems
Secondary technologies (mastery or familiarity preferred):
* Blackberry Enterprise Server
* ESET Anti-Virus Corporate Edition
* Print servers
* Mobile phones
* RSA Secure ID
* Citrix support
Certifications:
* A+ certification is preferred.

A Bachelor's degree required. A successful candidate must have a strong desktop support background with at least 4 years of experience closely related with an Active Directory environment. Basic understanding of TCP/IP networks is a must. Candidates must have a strong technical background, strong written and oral communication skills, project management skills, and the ability to work independently as well as within a team environment. Should be able to lift up to 50 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation.
