Job: Junior Generator Technician - Marlborough, MA

Jobing Description

We are looking for a Junior Technician to join our expanding work force. As a junior technician you will work under close supervision of the Generation Supervisor and/or Lead Technician within the field for hands-on-learning. All training and certifications will be provided as part of your job. Your duties would be but not limited to assisting in the maintenance, operation and repair of diesel and gaseous generators.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

* High school graduate or GED equivalent.

Special Requirements

* Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Some knowledge of engines and/or electrical systems.
* Some knowledge of mathematics.
* Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing; ability to create effective working relationships with the public and fellow employees.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED

* Personal computer including word processing, spreadsheets and specialized software.
* Volt meter, ohm meters, various hand tools, radio and other equipment pertaining to this position.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job.

* Occasionally required to sit, and to reach with hands and arms.
* Constantly required to stand, walk, drive, and use hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls.
* Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear.
* Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.

OTHER RELATED DUTIES

* Work to upgrade skills in Standby Power Systems and accept progressively higher level of duties in this area as ability improves.
* Experience in a related area involving electrical or mechanical maintenance and operations a plus.
