Logistics Network Strategist: 837487
Primary Responsibilities:
* Develop, communicate and implement the Staples Logistics network strategy that yields the lowest cost to Staples while simultaneously improving service. The network strategy must meet the needs of all Staples business units (Retail, North America Delivery, new growth channels) and all cross-functional stakeholders impacted
* Support Logistics Strategy Department by completing scenario analyses as needed in the development of fulfillment and distribution network alternatives
* Provide strategic support and project management capability relating to the development and implementation of Logistics network project plans. Develop projects plans to meet deadlines for major initiatives. Provide project leadership. Drive various groups and cross-functional projects to promote smooth implementation of Logistics initiatives. Track and drive achievement of milestones and deliverables
* Perform data analysis, supply chain modeling, simulation modeling and financial modeling in support of network recommendations. Coordinate with cross-business functions (i.e. sales, real estate and replenishment) to verify key project assumptions and data inputs
* Develop financial and qualitative business cases in order to compare alternatives and to support recommendations
* Working knowledge of logistics network modeling tools (e.g.
transportation, distribution, and inventory) SUCH AS IBM LOGICNET PLUS,
LLAMASOFT SUPPLY CHAIN GURU, Strong analytical and organization skills
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor s Degree (Engineering, Business, Finance)
* Five to eight years experience in the areas of Supply Chain
* Ability to develop strong knowledge and understanding of Staples distribution, transportation and logistics requirements to exceed the expectations of internal and external customer
* Working knowledge of logistics network modeling tools (e.g. transportation, distribution, and inventory) Strong analytical and organization skills
* Strong interpersonal / customer service skills. Must have ability to work cross-functionally and be able to report and present to senior management. Must have ability to balance numerous large projects at one time
* Experience with one or more supply chain areas e.g. distribution, inventory, flow path or transportation operations, and the building of financial business cases
* Strong oral and written communication skills, especially with regards to mediation and/or facilitating groups toward mutual goals
* Demonstrated analytical thinking, strategic problem solving capabilities. Demonstrated responsibility, maturity, and leadership ability
* Strong data mining capabilities i.e. looking for patterns and outliers and sanitizing data accordingly. Ability to distill analyses into strategic insights
Preferred:
* Masters Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field
