Compete is looking for an experienced Product Manager to joins its growing product team. This person will work to help advance the media products mission to deliver products that leverage Compete data assets to create valuable solutions for clients who need to measure, understand and optimize online advertising and media planning, online video, mobile media and social media.
Responsibilities:
* To help advance the Media Products mission at Compete:
* Research and understand market opportunities both qualitatively (who are they and what do they need?) and quantitatively (how many of them are there, what do they already spend, with whom?)
* Present market opportunities to internal audiences with clarity and enthusiasm
* Define products that meet market needs while also meeting cost/benefit goals both for client and for Compete
* Advocate for product solutions to gain & maintain internal support
* Comfortable with agile approach to product definition: write specs using user-story framework, collaborate with development teams and leads, manage to client outcomes rather than feature sets
* Support sales teams by directly providing product training and as-needed sales support, and by collaborating to create sales support materials and to ensure quality control of product delivery
* Identify, evaluate, and help pursue partnership opportunities that enhance product offerings and/or develop channel-sales
* Shepherd established product partnerships
* Opportunity to influence product roadmap and assignment of product responsibilities
* Responsibility to identify and adapt to changing market needs and corporate priorities
* Occasional travel (10%)
Relevant skills, qualifications, experience:
* Seeking a candidate with two to five year s professional experience actively engaged in one or two of the following areas: market analysis, Web development, data analysis, market research, project management, product management
* Prefer candidate with meaningful exposure to online advertising, Web analytics, and/or media planning.
* Ideal candidate will take initiative, stay organized, respect others, be positive, and communicate clearly.
