Position Summary:
The Product Manager plays a key role in planning and developing the marketing strategy for Microfluidics's product line with the goal of escalating market exposure, increasing competitive advantage and sales volume.
Reports To: Microfluidics Business General Manager (Director Marketing, MPT)
Essential Functions:
Position requirements include, but are not limited to:
* Coordinates, prioritizes and monitors new product development activity with the assigned Product Development Team Leaders
* Identifies and assesses new markets and/or applications for Company's existing product portfolio
* Assists in the development of annual and multi-year marketing forecast and plans
* Works closely with Operations and Finance in coordinating pricing policies and monitoring product margins and profitability
* Directs marketing communication (MARCOM) activity relative to the product line, including advertising campaigns, tradeshow selection and attendance, sales training materials, and web based content
* Provides technical assistance, expertise and training to internal and external customers
* Develops and maintains all sales tools and competitive information

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:
* A technical and/or business (marketing) degree plus five (5) years or more applicable experience in a technology products environment
Language Skills:
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proven presentation capabilities
Ability to interact clearly and confidently with all levels in the organization and with external sales representatives, customers, vendors, and others as required.
Computer Skills:
* Computer proficient to organize & analyze vast amounts of data and to prepare technical presentations (Access, Excel, Powerpoint, Word, etc)
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
N/A
Other Qualifications:
* Team player with the ability to work effectively with large groups of staff within the company and interact with other corporate areas, as well as with customers and representatives from around the globe.
* Enthusiastic and quick learner with the ability to understand highly technical information regarding our equipment and customer needs
* Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge
* Understands the codes and standards relating to the product industry
* Working knowledge of market analysis, sales and marketing processes and distribution channels
* Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements
* Previous experience within the food and/or pharmaceutical industries would be a definite asset
* Ability to travel across Canada and out of the country to visit customers, interact with other corporate areas, and/or support tradeshows
