Jobing Description

Requirements Plans, schedules, routes and manages global freight shipments using knowledge of carrier operations, regulations, rate tariffs and company policy. Responsible for global freight operations; including on-time and accurate delivery, shipment optimization, asset utilization, shipment security and control and reduction of freight costs. Coordinates with carriers, oversees delivery execution and selects/recommends carriers to ensure efficient, timely and cost effective movement of goods and materials. Conducts research and performs analysis on transportation methods, rates and routes. Develops metrics and KPI s to audit and monitor carrier rates/charges and evaluate past performance and cost of transportation. Works with Manufacturing and Global Supply Chain (MGSC) and across the corporation to ensure supply chain objectives, strategies and processes support one another and that major objectives within MGSC are met.
Skills 1. Monitor and proactively manage carrier service levels; ensuring performance meets or exceeds standards.
2. Review transportation lanes to determine appropriate levels of service and cost to ensure efficient, accurate, timely and cost effective movement of goods and materials
3. Negotiate rates for all International / Domestic trade lanes. Analyze carrier proposals and recommend selection and contracting for all carriers.
4. Provide analytics for freight/carrier operations, private carriage, inventory and warehousing as required.
5. Develop metrics and KPI s that support continuous improvement and attainment of all carrier performance objectives.
6. Recommend logistics/supply chain improvements through analytics as assigned.
7. Ensure proper documentation is executed in support of international and domestic shipments.
8. Resolve and ensure timely delivery for problem/critical shipments in support of business operations.
9. Benchmark and implement or creatively develop best practice methods in the area of logistics.
10. Complete complex and multidimensional projects in the supply chain and global logistics as assigned.
Education Bachelor s degree in business, logistics, supply chain or operations management.
Master s degree preferred.
5 to 10 years experience in transportation, logistics and supply chain management.
Must have a demonstrated record of success, with strong supply chain and process knowledge, ideally in a related industry.

Industry certifications: Lean Certifications (Black Belt, Green Belt) preferred.
Career advancement requires a willingness and ability to relocate to other Bose locations, and travel as required.
