The Senior Engineering Manager for Interplay Production is responsible for managing and developing a team of Engineers and Testers which is responsible for developing and testing the market leading product Interplay Production further towards customer demands and new technologies.

The primary goal is to maintain the product and team to the extent that the market share can be persisted while in parallel developing new capabilities that even increase the market share. Interplay Production is technically closely related to the Avid Media Composer family. A good understanding of video formats, codecs and asset management concepts is highly appreciated in this role.

Primary Role Responsibilities:

Team: Manage, motivate and grow a team across geographies with locations in Kiev (Ukraine), Munich (Germany), Madison (WI USA) and Burlington (MA- USA).
Business & Technique: Clearly understand the technical requirements to meet current and future customer needs. Present engineering and QA plans and gain approval for optimum staffing levels in accordance with current and future business and technical requirements. These plans need to include proper and realistic scoping efforts. Propose feasible technical solutions that the team is capable to deliver to fulfill the customer requirements. Technical discussions with the IME architecture team on possible ways to realize new features.
Budget: Ensure in combination with your manager that the organizational budget requirements are met.

Experience:
At least 5+ years on product development as a contributing engineer.
At least 2 years of successful team management (project management).
Deep experience on designing, modelling and realising complex multi-tier client server applications.
Deep technical understanding of Video technologies in the aspects of format containers and codecs.
Deep technical understanding of complex data models and their appropriate implementations
Deep C++ application knowledge ideally in the video business
Interest in new technologies and evolving technologies
Deep Java (J2EE), Spring, Hibernate and other business logic and application server knowledge is a plus
SQL persistence experience is a plus
Broadcast market and Post production market experience is a plus
Interest in cloud and ASP business concepts is a plus
