Description

Provide legal support to Pyramis's fixed income institutional business. Pyramis is Fidelity's global institutional asset management unit. Fidelity's Fixed Income Division is one of the country's leading fixed-income managers with over $750 billion in bond and money market assets managed by a staff of 120 investment professionals.

Primary Responsibilities

* Work directly with investment professionals on Fixed Income's trading floor.
* Review and help develop separate account and commingled pool investment guidelines.
* Handle securities law and internal policy questions regarding trading and investments in institutional accounts.
* Partner with investment team to understand key regulatory developments that could impact business.
* Support client development team as they pursue and on-board new clients.
* Play an active role in business and investment decisions.
* Provide ERISA legal expertise.
* Advise investment professionals regarding new investment strategies and opportunities, often involving cutting-edge and innovative approaches.
* Gain understanding of all aspects of investment process by working closely with operations, compliance and accounting teams on the evaluation, set-up, processing and purchase of new complex instruments including derivatives.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

* Experience working with institutional asset managers, and with the applicable securities laws, most importantly the Investment Advisers Act.
* Some knowledge of ERISA and collective investment trusts is also desirable.
* 4-8 years of experience at a law firm or global investment management firm
* J.D. and bar membership, including eligibility to seek admittance to New Hampshire
