Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of U.S. Business Development, the successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record in institutional sales with other money managers. This individual must be prepared and interested in building and expanding an existing institutional sales/distribution effort in the US. The incumbent will be an action-oriented, disciplined, conceptual ?doer? motivated to build and grow strong institutional pension fund, defined contribution, endowment and foundation relationships. He/She must be smart, diligent, decisive and a true team player. While it is incumbent that the successful candidate is able to work independently ? he/she must be drawn to teaming and collaborating with others. He/She must have impeccable character and reputation and must have outstanding verbal, written and interpersonal skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

? Leverage existing relationships to create opportunities and position AGF?s investment capabilities directly with US-based institutional investors and successfully manage the sales process to grow institutional assets under management.
? Develop strong relationships with US-based institutional plan sponsors and investment consultants to help establish and enhance AGF?s reputation / profile in the US institutional market.
? Identify and cultivate a robust pipeline of opportunities within the assigned territory.
? Work with relationship managers to identify and target sales opportunities with existing clients.
? Actively seek out networking opportunities and represent AGF at industry events where appropriate.
? Maintain awareness of competitive industry trends in order to provide technical investment information to clients. Ensure up to date and accurate investment information.
? Work closely with AGF?s marketing team to develop effective marketing support for institutional business developments.
? Develop strong working relationships with AGF?s investment teams.
? Ensure timely and accurate updates of investment data and analysis to consultant and influencers.
? Negotiate contracts and agreements.

Requirements

? Proven track record of raising institutional assets with at least 5-10 years of institutional sales/distribution experience.
? Established relationships across the U.S. with pension funds, endowments, foundations and public funds.
? Excellent presentation and communications skills. Ability to present, deliver and articulate the Firm?s positioning and development of existing and new products. The ability to discuss complex issues and communicate them in writing to key constituencies in a straightforward manner.
? Strong, consultative, relationship-based selling skills, with a demonstrated track record of success
with sophisticated institutional investors and consultants is required.
? Competitive and market knowledge/understanding. Keen intellect and quick study of complex
subjects.
? Outstanding collaboration skills. An ability to work appropriately with portfolio managers, trading
and research to other sales and consultant relations professionals to position and sell the full range of
investment solutions for institutional clients.
? Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance or relevant field.
? MBA degree or CFA designation (or working toward CFA designation) preferred.
? Ability to develop and execute a sales driven business plan.
