Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of related work experience; a combination of education and experience may be considered

Additional Qualifications
  • BA/BS strongly preferred
  • Experience with MS Office product preferred
  • Experience with Campus Solutions or other enterprise student information system and database report writing software preferred
  • Familiarity and experience with room scheduling software is a plus
  • Related experience in an academic or customer service environment is a plus
  • Experience maintaining confidentiality and handling a variety of inquiries accurately and efficiently preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and verbal/written skills preferred
  • Processes complex work in a fast-paced department preferred
  •  Willingness to learn new software preferred
  • Works well in a collaborative environment preferred
  • Operates with a customer/client service focus preferred

Duties & Responsibilities
The Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health Registrar’s Office (RO) manages student enrollment, maintains student data and grades, monitors students’ compliance with degree requirements, certifies enrollment, asseses tuition, and schedules courses. The office manages the local HSPH implementation of the student records components of the my.harvard Student Information System and the EMS room scheduling system. It is the source of student records reporting for the SPH school. 

Reporting into the Associate Registrar, the Registrar's Office Assistant's duties include, but are not limited to: 
  • Serves as the primary point of contact at the service counter for the Registrar’s Office
  • Provides information for students, faculty, staff, and the public
  • Advises students and faculty on procedures relating to submission of petitions and other registration documents
  • Reviews submissions of petitions and other academic forms for completeness and processes and updates student record accordingly
  • Receives inquiries and resolves enrollment related problems
  • Serves as the primary reviewer for System Now tickets and assigns, resolves or triages them as needed (follow up required varies from advising a student, faculty or staff member, to first level technical trouble shooting, to responding to another school about an enrollment issue,etc.)
  • Assists with enrollment verification documentation
  • Responds to both telephone and email inquiries
  • Refers inquiries to the appropriate staff members for resolution when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned
