UX Designer

Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM Research is looking to hire a UX Designer to become an essential member of the IBM Research Challenges product team, part of the Apps@Research product portfolio.The Apps@Research team is comprised of extraordinary developers, designers, and product managers who collaborate closely to deliver a great user experience for a strategically critical products. The IBM Research Challenges is a centralized system for 3,000 IBM researchers to manage more than 1,800 research projects worldwide, and enables IBM Research leadership to align work to the most important business problems facing our company and clients.
 
As a UX Designer, you will take an executional role in defining the user experience, flows, interaction patterns, and the interface. You will collaborate across development, design research, and product management to assure the solutions align with user needs and business goals. Your work will be in the context of designing the best solutions that are based on a foundation of empathy and understanding of real people.
 
An optimal candidate should be passionate, curious, and a self-driven team player who has a strong collaboration ethic while working with a global multi-disciplinary team. The candidate will be responsible for leveraging the IBM Design Thinking practice, the IBM Design Language, and the IBM brand guidelines while crafting user-centric solutions in an Agile product development environment.
 
This is an on-site position is for candidates who must be willing to work from either Cambridge, MA or Yorktown Heights, NY location.
