Description
MBC is fast growing firm that is seeking talented and qualified financial accountants and auditor professionals with at least 4 years of experience to support financial improvement and increased auditability of the United States Department of Navy (DON) and United States Air Force (USAF) financial statements.

**This role may be based in any of the following locations: Dayton OH; San Diego CA; or Washington, DC.** Multiple positions available.

Client Management, Qualifications and Responsibilities
• Provide support to clients’ technical areas such as accounting procedures, financial reporting, internal controls test of design, test of operating effectiveness, audit readiness, and compliance services
• Provide financial analysis of large data sets
• Understand client’s organization and industry business issues, gaps, related challenges and ability to address the client’s needs and expectations
• Prepare accurate, complete and high-quality deliverables and understand document retention requirements
• Support the operations of the engagement team and management while performing as an integrated team member
• Perform analysis of key business processes and internal controls to identify risks and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency
• Validate controls and review testing of internal controls related to OMB A-123 and FIAR compliance
• Design and document business operations, processes, and functions
• Analyze Notifications of Finding and Recommendation (NFRs) and exceptions to formally communicate to client on significant deficiencies
• Track remediation activities and assess corrective action plans (CAPs) from process owners and stakeholders
• Develop, implement, and track CAPs in response to audit findings
• Actively participate in client meetings and day-to-day interactions and prepare presentations and briefings

• Supports business development activities as directed by management.
• Supports practice business development activities
• Understands basic steps in sales cycles

Requirements
Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree/ Master’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or business-related field
• An active, or ability to obtain, a DoD SECRET clearance
• Experience with DOD Audit process and FIAR Guidance
• Proficiency with the Web, and MS Suite Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of engagement or project planning and control process
• Excellent writing and communications skills
• Occasional travel may be required

Preferred Qualifications:

• One of the following professional certifications: CPA, CIA, CGFM or CDFM
• Knowledge of Department of Defense Financial Management Regulation (FMR), OMB Circulars, Treasury Financial Manual (TFM), the United States Standard General Ledger (USSGL), and/or Statement of Federal Financial Accounting Standards (SFFAS)
• Familiarity with US GAAP, GAGAS, FIAR and A-123
• Familiarity with DoD and/or Service level financial management policies and procedures
• Experience working with external auditors to communicate and track NFRs
• Knowledge of Federal financial statement auditing practices
• Proven ability to work independently and as a team member
• Good organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills
• Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting; either military or civilian
