    GENERAL SUMMARY:

    Compliance is responsible for garnishment entry, verification of employment, union dues, workers compensation and other payroll related functions. A successful candidate will provide quality, timely and courteous service to agencies and professionals, in addition to ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and timely processing of garnishment orders and levies. Processing errors in this discipline can expose PPL to the risk of financial losses and reputational issues. Candidate must be able to work under deadline pressure, thrive on change and challenge and be process improvement minded.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Process Payroll Related Compliance Tasks

    • Processes garnishment orders within defined quality standards in automated financial management system
    • Research and production of re-issued payments
    • Workers Compensation management
    • Meet quality assurance standards and perform audits
    • Demonstrates high level of accuracy to mitigate risk, liability and exposure
    • Immediately escalates any issues to supervisor of manager regarding problem cases
    • Document management of garnishment orders and workers compensation reporting

    Operational Analysis

    • Process reports intended for management
    • Work within team environment to find improvements to existing processes
    • Special Projects as assigned
    • Expected to be the subject matter expert on all things Compliance
    • Attend meetings and represent FOC on Compliance matters
    • Perform User Acceptance Testing and report findings to appropriate stakeholders
    • Ability to think two steps ahead

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION and/or PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

    Education: College degree preferred or relevant experience

    Experience: 2+ years finance experience required, preferably in an automated system environment. Garnishment experience/knowledge a plus

    Skills: Process improvement oriented

    Must demonstrate strong analytical and logical reasoning skills for problem solving

    Strong relationship management / communication experience required

    Excellent accuracy, attention to detail and multi tasking capability

    Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced environment with multiple deadlines

    Advanced working knowledge of MS Windows, Excel and Word preferred
